Emily Potter Photography
Welcome
Hey there! I'm Emily. I am born and raised in Central Florida and I am thankful that you have taken the time to get to know me! I love capturing the little moments that show off your unique personality.

Photography has been a love of mine since my high school art teacher put a film camera in my hand in 2012 and taught me how to use it. I will have you know I complained the whole time, but she told me I could do hard things and that one day I would make a money with my art... And I will have you know she was right.

From 2012-2022 photography was my biggest hobby and passion project. In 2022 with the encouragement of my husband I took a leap of faith and opened Emily Potter Photography and it has been the biggest blessing. I am so thankful to my clients to let me live my dream and to take their picture in the process. I am a team of one! From the moment you first reach out until your final gallery delivery I handle everything! Have a question? Text me! Need help picking out outfits for your engagement pics? I can send inspo or hop on a FaceTime to go through your wardrove. No AI editing, spam emails, or sending associates in my place. Your support directly goes to building my buisness and supporting my family!

My Approach
As a documentary style photographer, I like to focus less on giving you prompts and poses and instead curating an experience that allows you to be yourself and have your personality come through in the photos.
"But Emily, I am so awkward in front of the camera!!" I hear you scream from across the screen. I get it, and no worries! I will give you some overall tips before we get started, I will talk to you throughout the process. Typically individual and couple sessions feel like a walk in a park or at the beach with a new friend. We chat, I say something funny or cringe to get a reaction from you, capture that reaction, and then we keep on walking and talking. Easy. Peazy.

Documentary style photography is also perfect for events where you do not want to stop every 30 seconds to face the camera and smile. You want to remember how you felt on the wedding day, not just how you looked. Your wedding day does not have to be one big photoshoot! It can focus on celebrating your love, having the best party ever, and having photos that feel genuine and authentic to you.
